Northern Territory Inclusion Agency

Apart from our focus on advocacy for children in the NT, Early Childhood Australia NT (ECA NT) is the Northern Territory Inclusion Agency (NT-IA).

We support the Northern and Southern regions of the Northern Territory and manage the Specialist Equipment Library (SEL).

The Inclusion Agency consists of a team of Inclusion Professionals (IP) who work directly with eligible Early Childhood Education and Care services to:

  • Improve their capacity and capability to provide quality inclusive practices

  • Address participation barriers and include children with additional needs alongside typically developing peers

The NT-IA also supports families, parents and carers of children with additional needs to gain relevant information on appropriate early childhood services to help them to participate in the workforce.

NDIS Early Childhood Approach

ECA NT is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Early Childhood Approach Partner in the Community for the Darwin Urban region.

Early Childhood Approach links eligible children with developmental delay or disability and their families, to the NDIS.

ECA NT delivers the Early Childhood Approach to children from birth - 9 years in the Darwin Urban service area, including Darwin, Palmerston and Litchfield.

ECA NT have employed specialist personnel to work with families to understand their children’s developmental delay or disability and the impact that it has on their everyday functioning. Together we will identify goals and, using our expertise, will discuss evidence-based supports that can help meet the goals of the child and family. The type of supports offered will be different for every child and their family according to their individual needs.
